In the late 70´s , Diamantino da Costa left is restaurant in Brussels and came back to the sunny Algarve, opening the restaurant "Piri-piri da Costa," on the island of Faro, today known simply as "O COSTA" .
In 2001 his restaurant was included in the Michelin Guide - one of the most respected guides of restaurants and hotels in the world.
The inclusion in the Michelin Guide and its maintenance over the years, is a value to preserve, as a synonym for recognition of good taste and quality of service provided.
Annually are introduced innovations in some recipes, the fact that they kept the main characteristics of the plates over the years, has been one of the factors of success of this restaurant.
Since the beginning, the Recipes have been made by the hands of Maria Catarina Costa, with their knowledge of gastronomy Moroccan, she gives an Arab touch to some plates.
Today the daughter Fabienne, who also has a taste for cooking, uses some spices brought from other lands,
creating sometimes a “fusing” between our kitchen and foreigner.
Are flavors from other places, that mix with the best algarve specialties, creating a special flavor.
